Gulf Tile & Cabinetry was recently featured on the popular Channel 8 television show Day Time. Gulf Tile Vice President, Lou Piniella, Jr. and Cabinet Manger Robert Senior met with the host to discuss the latest remodeling trends in kitchens and bathrooms.
First, Mr. Piniella explained that design consultants were available at each of the four Gulf Tile & Cabinetry showrooms to help customers bring their ideas to life. The consultants use CAD and visual software to show clients how a room will look including flooring, cabinets, countertops, walls, back splashes, and more. This allows the clients to adjust their designs until everything is perfect.
Next, Mr. Senior showed several examples of the latest trends in cabinetry. The overall trend is to mix and match clean, crisp elements with classic designs such as KraftMaid Square Raised Panel-Solid Maple in Dove White and modern fixtures for a result that are interesting, beautiful and personalized to each home. With regard to cabinetry, clean and simple designs are most prevalent, allowing home owners a backdrop for adding “bling” to their décor through the use of other elements such as glass and stone tile sets and chrome cabinetry fixtures. Rustic cabinets with worn finishes, rub-throughs, and cracks are often installed on kitchen islands to add interest such as the KraftMaid Square Receeded Panel-Veneer Maple in Sage w/Cocoa Glaze. Vintage style cabinet doors are also popular in black, white, and cherry wood finishes such as the KraftMaid Square Receeded Panel-Veneer Maple in Mushroom w/Cocoa Glaze. They are also used on islands as well as on upper cabinets to add a pop of color or interest.
Carrera marble is making a comeback for use as counter and island tops. However, Mr. Piniella explained that many homeowners are selecting quartz or porcelain tile countertops, which offer the look and feel of marble without the maintenance.
Gulf Tile also uses a variety of products to reduce maintenance on all of their installations. For example, there are waterproof finishes that can protect the underlayment of installations from cracking or cabinetry in a steam room from warping. Stain proof grouts are also available to keep tiles looking clean and bright for years to come.
Please visit any of our Gulf Tile & Cabinetry showrooms to view these latest trends. Our consultants are available to answer any questions and help you design the kitchen or bath of your dreams.
